Pinwheel Cookies

C and  I made these pinwheel cookies Sunday.

Yes, one lost a small piece, but it allowed you to see the icing.

It all started in December.  We made the dough and after letting it sit in the freezer for four hours I decided, maybe they would be better enjoyed in January.  They're blue?!  Perfect for winter.

They were quite easy to make, however mine were definitely not as pretty as the picture!

I also used this frosting recipe, declared (the best frosting ever) as a peppermint frosting didn't appeal to me.

I have to say, overall I'm not that impressed.  Neither was C.  He declared that he didn't like them.  Truthfully I don't believe he wouldn't like a sugar laden cookie.

Perhaps I should have used the peppermint frosting?  Or the best frosting ever, really isn't the best frosting with these pinwheel cookies?
