This week I'll share with you two posts on water activities.
I recently remembered using water to "paint" the neighbor's house one summer. I think a neighbor's baby sitter (or maybe ours) was trying to keep us busy. It worked. We were older than C but had a blast doing it.
All you need is water and a paint brush of almost any size.
Of course I let C try this activity, however it lasted all of one, maybe two minutes. I should have realized that giving C water (especially outside) would not remain a "structured" activity.
The cup was quickly dumped
And on to the hose to fill the watering can, then the cup, and of course it was poured on the ground.
It still worked out- he had fun. That's all that matters and we'll try "painting" again.
This was my contribution
Remember, everything can be used as a learning tool. Talk to your child about evaporation and how the medium is drying. Discuss how to draw a shape or other item. It can be as simple or in-depth as you want it to be.
