Licorice & Cereal Bracelets

One thing C loves to do is make licorice and cereal bracelets.  It's really quite easy.  Just take pull and peel licorice and any  "O" cereal you have on hand.  Non-coated works best, such as regular "O's" multi-grain "O's" or the fruity kind.  Make a knot on the end of one piece of licorice and start threading your "O's" on!  You can also knot several together to make a necklace or larger bracelet.

We've done this several times and we got a lot further this time- making two bracelets!  C also decided to eat licorice in the middle of the project and enjoyed eating extra "Os" at the end.

Remember everything can be used as a learning tool.  Ask your child what colors they see and how many pieces are on the licorice.  If they don't know, tell them and they will learn to recognize what they are seeing.
