This was super easy!
Take your coconut oil and soften in the microwave.
Add a cup or so (whatever amount you want) to your kitchenaid stand mixer for 6-7 minutes. I don't have a kitchenaid mixer, so I used a hand mixer. You will get fluffier coconut oil with a kitchenaid mixer.
Pour into desired container.
This was super easy and simply added air to the coconut oil. It doesn't come out of my jar like the lotion we're all used to, but it comes out more easily than non-whipped coconut oil.
Remember, feel free to add scent as desired!
I've used this on my legs for a little over a week now (exclusively) and I don't have the normal occasional itch or my annoying mysterious itchy dry bumps that appear and disappear without notice. I still dislike the coconut oil smell, but definitely like the moisturization it provides. It was hard to officially start using it, because using regular lotion from a pump was just so convenient. However, grabbing some whipped coconut oil from a jar is really just as easy.
I intend on trying the lotion and salt scrub on my feet and elbows...eventually! Next time I make this lotion of my scrub I'll be using essential oils or extracts. Can't wait to make a new batch.
I'm thinking my homemade salt scrub for body & hands might be fluffier and easier to get out of the container if I beat/ whip it.
Have you tried making coconut oil lotion? Anything you've learned?
