This is a project I truly loved. So easy and as inexpensive as you want it to be. Best of all- you can adapt it for every occasion, decor style, and season.
This is my Chicken wire frame.
I love that I can add anything, whenever I want. If it's something small and is special to C, I can add it too.
All you need:
Frame (whatever size you want- I went big 24x36) Cost can vary. Look for ones in the clearance sections with broken or no glass, or purchase ones that don't come with glass. Consider using a frame you already have.
Chicken wire (for those of you with a Fleet Farm and a Lowes- it's half the cost at Fleet $6!)
Staple gun with staples (borrowed- thanks friend!) Be sure the roll size will work with your frame.
Mini clothespins ($2 at Wal-mart in craft section for possibly 50?)
Spray paint (optional)
Wire cutter (already had)
Scissors (to open plastic on chicken wire)
I didn't have a frame on hand so I used a 40% off coupon at Michaels along with an extra 20% off coupon on frames. I purchased this black beauty.
If you desire another color, simply spray paint your frame. Considering the frame won't get a lot of wear and tear you shouldn't have to prime it. However, if it has a gloss finish you might want to sand it.
Next, open up and roll out your chicken wire. Use wire cutters to cut to fit. Cut a little oversized as you can always trim it again later.
Hold onto frame and start stapling.
Add mini clothespins and any other decor such as photos or small projects the kids have made. Currently I have C's cute items, a photo, and some Bible verse cards.
That's it!
Consider making these as gifts this Christmas for friends and family.
