I was just saying to myself- "Why can I never get grease out of my clothing? It's a common problem- a little spatter during cooking, C helping Dad wash the car and leaning into something (like a greasy tire), Dad changing the oil...and so much more. I've tried so many things and rarely get a grease stain out. I wonder what other ideas are out there?" Two days later- a solution. Or so I thought.
Re-nest suggests the use of chalk. Wipe some on top of the grease stain and it will soak up the moisture so it actually comes clean in the wash.
I tried this idea and it didn't work. Is there something I'm missing?
Instead I went to my fallback that sometimes, truly, maybe 30% of the time works. I dabbed some dawn on the spot and let it sit for about an hour and rewashed. The grease was gone- thank goodness.
I'd like to say thanks to my friends who suggested the use of oxiclean for poopy undies. Yeah- something they don't tell you about when you have a child.
Do you have a favorite way to remove grease stains or other laundry tricks? I'd love to hear them.
