Bath Toys

We all do it.  We scour the store shelves or garage sales for great toys.

C loves baths so I always wanted to find toys to make this time even more enjoyable.  I suppose those with children who hate baths also search for toys for the same purpose.

Search no more.  Search your kitchen or head to the dollar store.

Here's what you need: empty plastic containers.  Dish soap containers with lids, empty parmesan cheese containers, plastic spice jars, etc.

Then look in your utensil stash.  Grab some plastic measuring spoons, or an extra spoon.  Then grab a plastic cup or plastic measuring cup.

That's all you need.  Two or more of these items and your child will have the most fun they've ever had in the bath.

Best of all, these items are inexpensive or free and either very easily washable, or toss-able.

Do you have favorite bath toys to add to this list- even if not from around the house?

  1. Brilliant!! AJ is off and on when it comes to baths. Just a month ago she loved them, now not so much. Can't wait to try this and see what she thinks!

  2. I'm so glad you found this post helpful. After posting another friend suggested plastic lids to float things on. Any empty plastic container works really.

  3. Bath toys are important part of baby's bath routine. Bath toys will make your baby enjoy their bathing. There are different types of bath toys available in the toys shops. So it will be a tough task to select the best one for your baby. As these toys are handled daily by your kids, it requires careful observation from parent's side while purchasing toys.

  4. Karla, I love the idea of measuring cups. I can't believe I haven't thought of this before! My son loves to gnaw on the cup I use to wash him down with - measuring cups would be a perfect distraction.

I read a blog recently where someone suggested cutting a milk carton in half to use it as a boat. With so many ideas floating around, I'm never going to by bath toys again!

BTW, I just came across your site and love it! I tried to subscribe via your rss icon and all I got a was a link to a page of code :( I'll have to come back later and try again.

  5. Corinne, It makes me so happy to hear people that enjoy my blog! I wish I had thought of measuring cups sooner too!

I'm pretty new at this, so I didn't realize there was an rss subscription on my blog. If you have any information on how to fix this or add email subscription I'm all ears. Thanks again.
